Changes which are produced in the hypodermis and dermis

As we grow older a series of changes are produced in the structure and function of the skin which are characterised by dryness, wrinkles, coarse skin, looseness and the existence of pigmentation and other types of spots. This ageing effects similarly the texture of the dermis and epidermis

In this article I talk about the changes which are produced in the dermis and epidermis as we age.

¿What changes are produced in the hypodermis? A reduction in the vascularisation at the same time as a reduction of the adipose panniculus which produces flabby skin.

¿And what about the dermis? The dermis is responsible for the elasticity of the skin but with age we lose these characteristics of support. A loss of thickness which can explain the transparent and thin appearance which presents in the skins of people of great age. The rythmn of the synthesis of collagen reduces progressively and from the age of 60 produces a sudden falling off.

The alpha-hydroxy acids present in Bobal wines, produce a modular effect of peeling and increase the production of collagen and proteoglycans, so that cellular regeneration is increased, slowing the symptoms of dermal ageing, giving a smooth, radiant and young skin.

In the next post I will talk about the changes generate in the epidermis.

Hasta pronto.
